One of Lifehacker's favorite instant messaging platforms, Palo Alto-based imo.im, has just announced it will be discontinuing support for 3rd party instant messaging platforms.
It is a decision made in order to focus on imo's own platform, a cloud-based social network integrated with a messenger capable of voice and video calls that is usable from smart phone or web browser. However, the decision as left a large portion of its user base scratching their heads, since most users started using the app specifically because of its multi-platform support.
Users have until March 3 to download their chat history from the third-party networks. So yeah, better get on that quick if it's important to you.
